Some service-specific advantages we currently enjoy over our competition and will try to preserve as we grow are:
Our mowing and fertilizing schedules are based on weather conditions, not on a calendar. Turfgrass grows best when it is managed with an overall emphasis on doing what is best for the turf, not necessarily what day it is on the calendar. Grass is best mowed frequently enough to cut no more than 1/3 of the leaf in a single cutting so if this means mowing twice in a week then we make every effort to do so. On the other hand, if the turf is at a major risk of injury and not growing due to extreme drought or heat, we will not mow, apply pesticides or fertilize the turf in these conditions as this injures the grass. We also don’t sell you more fertilization applications than what is necessary to achieve the standard of quality you as the customer desire. We have the skills to make any property’s turfgrass look like a golf course with our customer’s cooperation but we understand and communicate to our customers that not many people can or want to afford this intensive level of care. We help you decide what level of quality you have the budget and time for and then provide the knowledge and service to acheive that level of quality.
We try to pass along any discounts we get on materials for our fertilization and snow removal services when possible to give our customers the best price possible. We also do not overload our work schedule so that we can service our customers with the time and consideration it takes to do the job right each time we visit their property. If our customers do have issues with our service, our customers enjoy direct contact with the director of Eden’s Gate. When you have questions and concerns you will have direct access to the owner of the company when needed to address any situation that arises with our services. We welcome feedback and enjoy communication from our customers so that we can respond quickly to their needs.
There are several important questions to consider when hiring us or any other company to service your property. Here are what we think are the most important ones and how we would answer them:
Is the company licensed and insured and do they run a legitimate reliable business?
Answer we give: Yes we maintain all licenses and insurance that we know of and are required to do business as a professional company. We pay all required taxes as well as hire legal US employees that are local people who contribute to the health of our economy and society in a positive way at this point in their lives. We don’t sacrifice these principles just to do things cheaper than our competition so we may not be the lowest priced company out there but we compete for your business without sacrificing our integrity.
Does the company really care about you as a valued customer or are you just another dollar?
Answer we give: We value all of our customers as equally as possible whether they are a large commercial account or a small residential. We respond to problems with genuine concern and value our reputation highly in the communities we serve. We will do our best to satisfy your needs to the best of our ability or send you to someone else who can. We would rather have a loyal, happy current or past customer who sends us referrals for the long hall instead of one who leaves dissatisfied because we didn’t do our best to respond to their needs.
Does the company perform work efficiently without sacrificing quality?
Answer we give: Our passion is to find better, faster, smarter ways to get the best quality job done for the valuable price you pay. We understand that everyone’s budget is tight and and when we can save you money compared to our competition for a quality job well done while making a reasonable profit ourselves, everyone wins. We don’t take harmful shortcuts and do things right the first time to the best of our available knowledge at the time of service.
Does the company pay attention to the little details that show pride in taking care of the properties they service?
Answer we give: The little things are what sets apart our business from some of our competition. Some are, picking up trash even if it isn’t in our way, stopping to move our truck out of the way when needed, pulling a weed or two when we have a few minutes of downtime, pruning a limb or two that may be dangerous, blowing off all hard surfaces to leave them clean and safe to walk on etc. etc. We know we aren’t perfect but we strive to bring your property as close as possible to their own version of The Garden of Eden.
What skill level does the staff have to address problems the customer may have?
Answer we give: All our staff is constantly learning better ways to serve our customers. We value education highly but are not afraid to admit we don’t know everything about everything. We have textbook and professional resources available to us that most companies probably don’t have. Also, our wide variety of past experiences and regular contact with some of the leading researchers in the green industry allows us to assist our customers with the newest information and products available.
